The Traitor Baru CormorantBCS author Seth Dickinson’s fantasy novel The Traitor Baru Cormorant, out on Sept. 15, features the same protagonist as his first BCS story, “The Traitor Baru Cormorant, Her Field-General, and Their Wounds” in BCS #81 and podcast BCS 73 (beware: the story contains spoilers for the novel!).

To celebrate Baru’s debut in a novel, BCS is giving away a copy of The Traitor Baru Cormorant!

To enter, comment on this post and tell us your favorite BCS story that’s set in the same world as a novel. Numerous BCS stories take place in the same world as the author’s novel(s), whether published before the story or after. Your favorite BCS story that’s set in the same world as the author’s novel(s).

You must leave your comment on this The Traitor Baru Cormorant Giveaway post. Comments left anywhere else will not enter you in the giveaway.

You must mention a story published in BCS that arguably takes place in the same world as some novel that author has written. Comments that do not mention a story published in BCS that arguably take place in the same world as some novel the author has written will not enter you in the giveaway.

You must post your comment before midnight PST on Wed. Sept. 23. Any comments posted after that will not be eligible.

You must reside within the USA or Canada. (Our apologies for this stipulation; the publisher only holds rights in the USA and Canada and so can’t ship the book anywhere else.)

    Where Virtue Lives by Saladin Ahmad is my favorite of the ones you listed.
    I am interested in The Traitor Baru Cormorant because it’s getting so much positive buzz from some quarters, but also serious criticism from some in the LGBT communities.

    Didn’t Brian McClellan publish a Powder Mage story through you guys? “The Face in the Window.” Love his series, love that story.
