Lovely, interesting story! I love seeing different writers' takes on shapeshifters. :)

I liked this story. It has a D&D flavor to it - human mage, dwarven thief/merchant, shapeshifter - but it's not your typical adventuring party.
And yet it could be. I'd read the novel that this story is prologue to :-)

I know I'm a bit (a lot) late on the commenting here, but wow, what an enjoyable story! Full of imagination, charm and personality--I could read a hundred like it, but I doubt I could find that many. If you ever get that novel sold, I'm a buyer for sure.
(And a snakeshifter? That's better gold than what they're selling at jewelry stores nowadays.)
