*Even though BCS meets one of the criteria to be considered a Semiprozine, that we pay other than in contributors' copies, we do not yet meet any of the other criteria. But Locus has won the Hugo for Semiprozine something like twenty of the last twenty-five years, so maybe the Fanzine category is a better shot. :)

**I'm not perfectly clear on the rules for the Campbell--it's possible that a bunch of the writers in BCS are eligible. But I know that Aliette and Tony have impressive bodies of work, and they're both being nominated by other people, so I've listed them here.

Writer and editor Cat Rambo has an informative livejournal post about Hugo nominations (http://catrambo.livejournal.com/217834.html), including her support for BCS. Thanks very much, Cat!

She mentions BCS in the Semiprozine category, but I've left a comment correcting that--even though we pay pro rate, we are actually in the Best Fanzine category.

Thanks to everyone who finds us worthy.

I've been wandering about the internets trying to fill in my nomination form, and came across this website that might be useful to some:

http://www.canadiansf.com/node/24

It's a list of all the Canadian SF published in 2008 in English. I came across it while trying to verify that Edward Willett's "Marseguro" was eligible (it is) and thought there might be other Canucks out there who, like me, are trying to decide what to read before the nomination deadline. I feel like I ought to read more Canadian authors; I'd only even heard of seven of the names in the novels section (and hadn't realised one of them was Canadian). So this gives me a bit of a guideline for what to buy/get at the library in the next few weeks.
