I've gotten a couple confused emails in the last month about the random fantasy questions that the forum software asks before you can register or post as a guest. So I thought I would explain that here.
These random questions are a security feature to block spammer account registrations. The spam-bots can defeat all other security measures, and we were getting 10-20 spammer registrations per day.
The random questions were written to be as easy as possible. Answers to most all of them are in the first hits that will pop up if you copy & paste the question into an online search engine. If you get a question you don't know, you can hit "Reload" in your browser and you will get a different one.
I've also had a few people wonder why the forum software asks for a user's birthdate. That is required for compliance with the Federal law that protects children from "harmful" online content. Feel free to give a fake birthdate, like Jan. 01, 1980. Just make sure your fake birthdate has you old enough to view adult content. :)
