Am I interpreting the subscriptions page correctly to say that BCS will be published online free of charge for readers?

If so, I congratulate you on your effort -- paying pro rates and offering free content is tremendous for both writers and readers. I hope you'll be able to sustain it. I already like the concept for the content you're looking to carry, and if that's the mode of operation, I like it even better. Good luck!

Yes, the fiction in _BCS_ will be freely available, like the fiction on _Strange Horizons_. Subscription, by email or RSS, is just a way for us to notify subscribed readers that a new issue has been released and to entice them to the website to read it. Thanks very much for your well-wishes!

That's tremendous. I'm really looking forward to seeing where this goes.

Given your business model of top-quality fiction free for readers and paying pro rates for writers (presumably to attract said top-notch fiction), it might be worth your time to drop by www.libertyhallwriters.org/phpbb/index.php (http://www.libertyhallwriters.org/phpbb/index.php) and post about BCS in the announcements forum (I think you can do that without joining the website, though you won't be able to see most of the forums without joining). It's a community, primarily composed of short fiction writers, who largely work in specfic. You may pick up some readers, and you may pick up some quality submissions -- and the good folk there always like hearing from an editor in person. From the sound of your plans here, I think it may be a good reading and writing fit for some of my compadres there.
