James Lecky confirms his statut of future big name of fantasy genre. A blockbuster story, really enormous with the apocalyptic side and a perfect worldbuiding.

This is a brilliant story. The language, the characters, the ideas . . .

Reminiscent of Jack Vance or Fritz Leiber. That jocular but grim, whimsical but appalling treatment... Really enjoyed this, both amused and disturbed by the final plot resolution. Almost saw it coming, but not quite. I thought an army of goilems might come and raise the city, summoned by their kin's cry. Better that it was by the mennisinger's art. Of course I like that the pride and dignity of a commoner prevails over the power of royalty. An ancient theme/dream/fantasy. Bravo!
