This story reminds me so much of the early Andre Norton, who is one of my favorite fantasy writers of all time. Erin Hoffman has a rare talent.

It was a fun story. I thought the way the author handled the animal intelligence was well done.

This story was beautifully done. I loved the way Ms Hoffman allowed us to identify with the wolves without making them human or the readers wolves. I loved her 'voice'. I will definitely be looking for more from Erin Hoffman.

excellent story. i'm really not much of an emotional person but the segment with the mother wolf really got to me, it just hit a nerve and i had to walk away for awhile.

I also have to agree that the animal intelligence is a nice touch to the story!

Reminds me of Perrin Aybara from the Wheel of Time series :) one of my fav characters of that series

I agree with all the comments on how the animal intelligence was handled---skilfully done. And the language in general flows beautifully, lyrical without calling attention to itself. Bravo, Ms. Hoffman! Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Wow! That was an amazing short story. While I was reading it, I could see everything that was happening, and I felt like I was there with the characters. Erin Hoffman, you are an amazing writer, and I cannot wait to read more of your work.

Go Erin! You rock!

But in all honesty, 'Sightwolf' was fabulous! I love your voice, I loved how the main character found kinship with the wolves, and I loved the hints of the changes to the world brought about by the events of Sword of Fire and Sea. This just makes me more excited for your next book. :D
