The debut issue of Beneath Ceaseless Skies, on Thursday, October 9, will feature fantasy stories by Chris Willrich and David D. Levine.

Willrich’s previous literary sword & sorcery tales of poet Persimmon Gaunt and thief Imago Bone have appeared in The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction. In “The Sword of Loving Kindness,” Gaunt and Bone must resist the impulses of a magic weapon that is bending them toward propriety and decorum.

David D. Levine won the 2006 Hugo Award for Best Short Story. In his piece “Sun Magic, Earth Magic,” a foreign priestess must confront her preconceptions of a rustic people and their inferior sorcery if she is to rescue a boy trapped deep inside a cave.

Subsequent issues of Beneath Ceaseless Skies will include Part II of “The Sword of Loving Kindness,” a short story by Orbit novelist Marie Brennan, and a two-part novelette by Campbell Award-nominee Charles Coleman Finlay writing with Rae Carson Finlay.
