Gardner Dozois’s Year’s Best Science Fiction 29, the latest volume in that long-running and prestigious annual anthology series, again this year included fantasy stories in its honorable mentions.
The BCS stories singled out were:
- Marie Brennan, “Dancing the Warrior” from Issue #66 & #67
- Geoffrey Maloney, “Mr Morrow Becomes Acquainted with the Delicate Art of Squid Keeping” from Issue #64
- Richard Parks, “The Tiger’s Turn” from Issue #79 and “The Ghost of Shinoda Forest” from Issue #63
(Four of these stories will be appearing in the forthcoming Best of BCS, Year Three anthology this fall.)
Congratulations, all! And thank you again to Mr. Dozois for including fantasy in his honorable mentions, in the years since the discontinuation of the major year’s best fantasy anthology, so that worthy fantasy stories can get such notice.
