Gardner Dozois’s Year’s Best Science Fiction 29, the latest volume in that long-running and prestigious annual anthology series, again this year included fantasy stories in its  honorable mentions.

The BCS stories singled out were:

• Marie Brennan, “Dancing the Warrior” from Issue #66  & #67

• Siobhan Carroll, “In the Gardens of the Night” from Issue #74

• Michael J. DeLuca, “The Nine-Tailed Cat” from Issue #70

• Geoffrey Maloney, “Mr Morrow Becomes Acquainted with the Delicate Art of Squid Keeping” from Issue #64

• Richard Parks, “The Tiger’s Turn” from Issue #79 and “The Ghost of Shinoda Forest” from Issue #63

(Four of these stories will be appearing in the forthcoming Best of BCS, Year Three anthology this fall.)
