Two BCS stories were named to the list of Notable Stories for the second volume the new anthology series Best American Science Fiction and Fantasy!

• “Sun, Stone, Spear” by Carrie Vaughn, from BCS #169 and podcast BCS 146 (also to appear in the new Best of BCS Year Seven anthology, out next month!)

• “Steady on Her Feet” by K.J. Kabza, from BCS #168

The list of Notable Stories also features many BCS authors for their stories in other venues, including KameronHurley, Rahul Kanakia, Rich Larson, Sam J. Miller, Sarah Pinsker, E. Catherine Tobler, Rachel Swirsky, Caroline M. Yoachim, Genevieve Valentine, Catherynne M. Valente, and Yoon Ha Lee.

This year’s volume of BASFF was edited by Karen Joy Fowler, and the series is edited by John Joseph Adams. Last year, “The Black Waters of Lethe” by Oliver Buckram, from BCS #150 and podcast BCS 130 was named to the Notable Stories list.
