A.J. Lucy has studied biochemistry, studio art, and holds a PhD in developmental biology from the University of Pennsylvania, where she did research on the eggs of tiny fish. Every summer, A.J. helps organize the Alpha Workshop for Young Writers, a twelve-day workshop held in July at the University of Pittsburgh’s Greensburg campus, where twenty teen writers learn from author guests such as Tamora Pierce, N.K.
