Marie Vibbert has sold over 80 short stories to magazines such as Nature, Vice, and Amazing Stories. Her work has been translated at request into Czech, Vietnamese, and Chinese. Her debut novel, Galactic Hellcats, was long-listed for the British Science Fiction Award. Her third novel, The Gods Awoke, came out in 2022, and this short story takes place in its universe, where it explores a coming-of-age for the goddess Senne, who isn’t sure who or what she is. By day she is a computer programmer in Cleveland, Ohio.
