His novella The Black God’s Drums—a tale of airships and orishas set in an alternate New Orleans—is forthcoming from Tor.com in August 2018. He currently lives with his wife and pet dragon (often mistaken for a Boston Terrier) in a modest Edwardian castle in New England.
