Beneath Ceaseless Skies is dedicated to paying professional rates for great literary adventure fantasy, by new authors and established ones, and making it available online for free. To pay our authors and artists, we need your help.
Our parent company, Firkin Press, is a non-profit organization granted 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service, so your donation to BCS is tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. (Consult a tax professional for how to claim it.) All donations go to pay authors and artists for their work in BCS.
Apr. 20, 2019: the pay rate for short fiction that Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers of America (SFWA) sets as their qualifying “pro” rate is increasing by 33% on Sept. 1, 2019, to 8 cents/word. BCS has always paid SFWA pro rate, but we need a 33% increase in support from our readers and donors in order for us to pay this new higher SFWA rate.

We welcome donations of any amount. With your permission, we will include your name or a pseudonym on our list of Donors.
You can also donate to BCS on Patreon. The BCS Patreon lists our current fundraising goals–for summer 2019, to increase revenues so that we can pay the new higher SFWA “pro” pay rate that goes into effect Sept. 1, 2019–and how far we have to go to reach them.

Our Donor Levels
As you donate, no matter how much you donate at once, you’ll grow in our esteem if you keep donating over time. So our donor levels are cumulative—based on the total of all your donations, not just the most recent one. They are:
- $1-25 – Honored Guest of Beneath Ceaseless Skies
- $26-50 – Person-at-Arms of Beneath Ceaseless Skies
- $51-99 – Knight of Beneath Ceaseless Skies
- $100-299 – Vizier of Beneath Ceaseless Skies
- $300+ – Royal of Beneath Ceaseless Skies.
- At this donor level, you have enabled a full story to be published in BCS, and you can choose an available story title to be listed with your name.
Your total will continue to accrue for as long as you choose to donate.
